Animals are used in every conceivable manner, and as humans continue to pollute the world and destroy natural environments, animals also die.
With increasing numbers of individuals recognizing that animals are not ours to kill, eat, wear, experiment upon or exploit for entertainment, Animal Alliance of Canada has become a respected and powerful force. Please join us.
Animal Alliance of Canada is a federally incorporated, primarily volunteer organization. We have chosen to register as a non-profit organization so we can influence politicians, who are the gate-keepers of all legislation affecting animals and the environment. Charities are substantially restricted in their ability to lobby for legislative change. Our focus is to achieve long-term animal and environmental protection through political action, legislative advocacy, and public education.
Animal Alliance of Canada (AAC) is a federally incorporated non-profit organization committed to the protection of all animals and to the promotion of a harmonious relationship among humans, non-humans and the environment. As a non-profit, we are able to use electoral politics and lobbying as strategies to make the legislators pass sound animal and environmental protection laws. We also provide educational materials and resources to the media, general public, students and other organizations.
AAC was founded in August of 1990 and since then we have grown substantially. We have over 15,000 supporters across Canada and are funded entirely by private donations.
The Animal Alliance Environment Voters Party of Canada (AAEVPC) was formed to use politics, particularly electoral politics, to make governments adopt policies that protect the environment and animals.
AAEVPC was founded by people associated with Animal Alliance of Canada (AAC) and Environment Voters (EV): two organizations that have campaigned in elections since 1999 to promote progressive environmental and animal protection policies at the municipal, provincial and federal levels. Like all political parties, one of the purposes of AAEVPC is to participate in elections, running candidates and promoting the AAEVPC platform. However, AAEVPC will do much more.
